Join CAAR for the 2nd Annual Fair Housing Symposium, hosted by the DEI Committee, a dedicated gathering focused on confronting the ongoing injustices that continue to shape housing access for communities of color. While the event incorporates elements of celebration — multicultural food, drinks, and line dancing — its primary purpose is to shine a light on the systemic discrimination that persists across lending, appraisal practices, land use policy, and neighborhood investment.

Featured Speakers:

- Joy Johnson – Vice President, Legal Aid Justice Center; President’s Council on UVA‑Community Partnerships; Council Member, Piedmont Housing Alliance
- Jada Howard – Community Engagement Coordinator, Piedmont Community Land Trust

These leaders bring deep expertise in racial equity, community development, and housing justice.

Whether you are a housing professional, community advocate, policymaker, or neighbor committed to fairness, this symposium offers a meaningful opportunity to learn, reflect, and take part in advancing equal access to housing.

This event received a $2,500 Virginia REALTORS Community Engagement Grant.

Registration
$10 for members; $15 for guests. Non-members may register for $15.
